EN19 Engineering Steel (709M40)
EN19 also known as 708M40 / 709M40 and AISI 4140 comes treated in the annealed as rolled or supplied as a high tensile steel grade to EN19T. We offer EN19 is a high quality alloy steel with good tensile strength. We can supply in diameters, squares, and flats from stock. Cut to length if required. See also EN19 plate.
It is renown for its wear resistance properties and where high strength properties is required. Suitable for automotive applications such as gears, shafts, spindles, etc. Treated in the T condition En19T is a popular high tensile steel with a tensile in the range 850/1000 N/mm². It has good ductility and shock resisting properties and is resistant to wear. If strength is a primary requirement for you application then EN19 should be considered.
